This vintage hand-cranked fluting iron from the Victorian era, produced by the Eagle Company and patented on November 2, 1878, was designed to crimp, ruffle, and create pleats in fabric, especially for starched collars, cuffs, and dresses.
The device features two corrugated brass rollers set on a sturdy cast-iron base, which is operated using a wooden-handled crank.
With dimensions of 11.5 inches in width, 5 inches in depth, and 5.5 inches in height, this piece would serve as a fantastic decorative addition to any collection. Furthermore, it could be a valuable tool for crimping, ruffling, and pleating fabric in clothing design.
